Starlight Chrome Powder - Gold

$6.00

Product Description

TO ACHIEVE CHROME NAILS (THE EASIEST AND BEST WAY):

-You must use this product with a tack-free soak off gel topcoat.

1.  Apply whatever color gel polish to the nails or enhancements you'd like, and cure.  Do two coats if necessary.

2.  Apply a tack-free soak off gel topcoat, cure. (make sure it's fully cured)

3.  Apply the chrome powder using the silicone tools, your gloved finger, or a sponge applicator.   Apply lots of pressure and rub until it's perfectly smooth with NO SHIMMER.

4.  !!!!  IMPORTANT !!!!  (this keeps the chrome from shimmering or glittering)  Clean any excess product from around the nail using a nail brush, lint-free wipe, or your table towel.

5.  Topcoat using the same tack-free soak off gel topcoat, OR for extra protection, coat with a builder gel.

METHOD #1 - FOR TRADITIONAL 3-STEP GEL POLISH SYSTEMS (NOT CND):

(This works for Gelish, and OPI)

1.  Apply base gel and cure

2.  Apply 1-2 coats of color gel of your choice and cure.

3.  Remove from the light.  Apply the gel topcoat, cure.

4.  Remove the tacky surface on the nail using a DRY lint free wipe.

5.  Use the sponge applicator with significant pressure or a silicone tool to burnish the chrome pigment. (A fluffy brush is NOT recommended).

6.  Remove any excess chrome pigment.  Topcoat again.  Remove from the light and wipe once more with a DRY lint-free wipe.

7.  Apply the chrome powder once again for complete coverage.  Then finish with gel topcoat being sure to seal the edge.

METHOD #2 (USING A 1-STEP GEL POLISH - NO TACKY LAYER)

1.  Apply base gel if necessary

2.  Apply color gel and cure.

3.  Immediately apply the chrome pigment powder to the surface of the nail after curing using a sponge applicator or silicone tool.

4.  Remove any excess chrome pigment, and topcoat with a gel topcoat of your choice.    For extra durability, you can apply two coats of gel topcoat.

(OPTIONAL, after step 3, you can apply a clear soak-off tack-free topcoat, cure, and apply an additional layer of chrome mirror pigment for a super-opaque mirror look, then continue to step 4).

METHOD #3 (BREAKING YOUR SYSTEM)

1.  Apply any brand of gel polish - base, and two color coats if necessary

2.  Apply a TACK-FREE SOAK OFF gel topcoat, and cure

3.  Apply the chrome pigment using a sponge applicator or silicone tool

4.  Remove excess and topcoat with the gel topcoat of your choice.

(OPTIONAL, after step 3, you can apply a clear soak-off tack-free topcoat, cure, and apply an additional layer of chrome mirror pigment for a super-opaque mirror look, then continue to step 4).

METHOD #4  CND SHELLAC

(Shellac is unique because it has a very very sticky inhibition layer, which makes doing this technique quite challenging).  I have found that this technique works best using the colors "Clearly Pink" and "Black Pool".  The Shellac topcoat tends to significantly diminish the chrome look because it loosens the pigment particles from the surface (whether you "float" it or "stroke" it).

1.  Apply base gel, cure

2.  Apply first coat of Shellac color

3.  Apply second coat of Shellac color (I recommend Clearly Pink or Black pool - if you want a color to show through, use your desired color for the first coat, and then use clearly pink for the second coat) - CURE

4.  Wipe the nail using a lint free wipe with 50% Isopropyl Alcohol (you can usually find this at the corner drug store).

5.  Apply the chrome pigment using a sponge tip applicator or silicone tool

6.  Apply Express 5 topcoat, or Traditional Shellac topcoat.

METHOD #5  OVER ENHANCEMENTS

1.  Apply any brand of gel polish - base, and two color coats if necessary over enhancements, or begin with a black acrylic nail.

2.  Apply a tack-free SOAK OFF gel topcoat, and cure - OR- apply a traditional gel topcoat, and dry wipe the tacky layer after curing.  (Dry wipe with a lint free pad which cleans the nail but leaves a very very slight residue)

3.  Apply the chrome pigment using a sponge applicator or silicone tool

4.  Remove excess

5.  Coat the chrome powder with a Hard Gel, and cure.

6.  Do a final topcoat with the gel topcoat of your choice.
